The “DENK'ART” range made by Zalto, a glass manufacturer from the Austrian province of Styria, enjoys wide recognition in the wine sector. In professional tests, this innovatively-designed glassware always occupies the best places in the corresponding rankings.
These exquisitely-crafted examples of the glassmaker’s art have meanwhile become cult objects in their own right.
Zalto glasses, with their characteristically-delicate appearance, are all traditionally hand-blown without the use of lead oxide to counter cloudiness, and yet manage – despite their seemingly feather-light weight – to be durable, robust and dishwasher-safe.
The design is guided by a cosmological phenomenon.
The basic principle used in the manufacture of the glasses is their recurring angles of 24, 48 and 72 degrees, which echo the angle of inclination (and its multiples) of the earth in its orbits around the sun.
The “DENK'ART” range of glassware includes the models denominated “BURGUNDER” (Burgundy), “BORDEAUX”, “UNIVERSAL”, “WEISSWEIN” (white wine), “SÜSSWEIN” (dessert wine) and “CHAMPAGNER” (Champagne)
